Once went to an assembly at Murrayfield..1965 I recall.
And never been back since, eh?!!
I think that one convention did more damage to the Scottish tourist industry than anything else in history.

it is 90% MTS material and 10% on how to handle matters....although all CO's are told to pass on problems to the branch.
Sorry, Digger, I don't buy that. Perhaps, if it was one, or even two, weeks. But eight weeks? No way.
I guess you're still an active Witness? (I've no problem with that if you are!)
Are you planning on leaving, or are you able to live with the GB's hypocrisy?

It reminds me of the priest, minister and rabbi discussing how much they got paid.
The priest said he got a fixed salary every month from the church, irrespective of how wealthy his parish was. The minister said he was allowed to keep 10% of what went into the collection plate.
"That's rubbish," said the rabbi. "After every sabbath I gather all the money that's been collected and I throw it all up into the air. As high as I can manage. I shout, "Lord, you take what you want, and I'll keep what falls back down!""

No one seems to have any info on what's going on... they've been told to keep the yaps shut.
Intriguing, isn't it!
Anyone want to speculate??
For starters, how about:
- Abolish judicial committees: matters dealt with by full body;
- Abolish disfellowshipping: everyone just gets disassociated;
- Admitting they're wrong about child abuse policies: in future elders are to "just call the police." (Quote from BBC Panorama reporter when interviewing London Bethel spokesman.)
- Preparing the 'flock' for an admission they've been wrong about 1914? (Naw, that's just too much!)

Hi Blondie,
COs and DOs routinely have refresher courses.
I know, but they are usually (or, at least, they used to be) called in for either a weekend, or at most a week. To have one for two months means it has to be pretty heavy, more than just a "refresher."
Especially as there's a desperate shortage of substitute COs in the UK.
My nose is twitching...

PS: A Scotsman and an Englishman lived next door to each other. The Scotsman owned a hen and each morning would collect his hen's eggs for breakfast.
One day the hen had laid an egg in the Englishman's garden. He was about to go next door when the Englishman picked it up. The Scotsman told him the egg belonged to him because he owned the hen. The Englishman disagreed because the egg was laid on his property.
Finally the Scotsman said, "This is how we solve arguments in my family: I kick you in the b***s and time how long it takes you to get back up, then you kick me in the b***s and time how long it takes for me to get up: whoever gets up quicker wins the egg."
The Englishman agreed, the Scotsman dug out his heaviest pair of boots, took a few steps back, then kicked the Englishman as hard as he could. The Englishman fell to the ground, doubled-up, howling in agony for 30 minutes.
Eventually the Englishman stood up, "Now it's my turn.""Keep the f**king egg."

PS: What is 'trolling'? I presume it means deliberately trying to gather personal information about people on this site in order to try to identify them and report them to Bethel or local elders--is that correct? So is the word a corruption of 'trawling,' the way fishing boats scrape the sea bed trying to gather every last fish in the area?
PPS: When I meet up with LittleToe, I'll see if he knows why Caspian was deleted.
